Testimonial Caleb

In June we received a application from Caleb for a SENTRI pass…as his Singapore citizenship status only let him apply for SENTRI at that time.

He also inquired if it was possible to have a SENTRI interview in Los Angeles before he headed home to Singapore in a few weeks.

In July the CBP approved Singapore and Singapore citizens into the Global Entry program.

Daily alerts paid off!
Our daily alerts from the CBP surrounding all Trusted Traveler related info (Global Entry, SENTRI, NEXUS and TSA PreCheck) proved helpful in informing Caleb of Singapore’s new Global Entry status!

We informed Caleb of this change as well as the new Global Entry interview location in Singapore, open every Wednesday.

He decided to switch his his application to Global Entry (which we were able to do for him) and was approved shortly after.

Further correspondence with us led him into scheduling his interview back home in Singapore.

Below is the correspondence. Copy and Pasted to show email chain.

Hey Keith,

Thanks for the follow-up!

Looking forward to see you in Singapore sometimes soon!

Have a lovely weekend ahead. Cheers!

Hi Caleb,

Looks like your Global Entry interview went well…as you are officially approved for Global Entry!

We got the email conformation and just changed your GOES email account to this email address for any specific additional updates the CBP may send you.

You can log into your GOES account to see your approval notification.

Your Global Entry card should arrive to your mailing address shortly.

Glad you were able to receive Global Entry before returning to Singapore.  Quite convenient on the timing and having Singapore included with the Global Entry program.

Hope EasySentri was able to help some and provided some value.

Let us know if you have any questions,
Best,
Keith

Hi Caleb,

That’s great!  Scheduling through GOES is rather easy, unlike the application.

Yes, you will need to bring proof of address if possible.  If your residence is different from what is listed on your driver’s license, please provide proof of residency. If not your Driver’s license should be enough.  And definitely don’t forget to bring your Passport and Drivers License of course and a print out of your Conditional Approval letter if possible.

Hi Caleb,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Did you log on and schedule an interview in San Diego-Otay Mesa already?  We have not scheduled an interview for you on your behalf, so if you already did this then that’s great!  Interview is set for tomorrow.

If not let us know and we’ll try and cancel it and get one in LA.

Oh…and your Log In password has changed to: (removed for privacy)

Hi Caleb,

I have some great news.  Your Global Entry application has been Conditionally Approved!!

Nice!!

We usually send out a rather automated e-mail but I wanted to let you know myself.

Looks like Interviews with a CBP officer in Singapore are only on Wednesdays at this address:

Global Entry Initial Enrollment
Singapore, U.S. Embassy
U.S. Embassy, 27 Napier Road
Singapore, SG

Interviews are every 20 minuets from 9:00am till 11:40am.

Do you have a preference as to which Wednesday and at what time?  Most slots seem to be open.

If you wish to manage your GOES account yourself (https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/goes/jsp/login.jsp) your log-in information is:

Hi Caleb,

Roger that.

GOES is all set up to accept Singapore citizens and your Global Entry application all checks out.

However there is..”Information Requested by the Government of Singapore”..to complete this process.

We need to enter your: National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) #.

Once we have that we can submit your Global Entry and schedule an interview in Singapore when you are conditionally approved.

Apologies for all the back and forth. This is our first Singapore Global Entry application:)

Timing is quite fortunate considering this news for Singapore residents just happened a few days ago.

Regards,
Keith

Hi Caleb,

Thanks for getting back and for the additional information.

As of now it takes 3-6 Weeks for the CBP to “Conditionally Approve” any SENTRI or Global Entry application.  Global Entry applicants are being approved much sooner than SENTRI the past few months.

In addition, there are no SENTRI interview locations in L.A.  The closest 2 would be in San Diego.

Also, interview times are usually only available a few weeks (and sometimes months) after your application is “Conditionally Approved”.

For instance, the soonest any Global Entry applicant could come into a interview in Los Angeles (assuming their application was Conditionally Approved today) is August 22nd.  We just checked.  There are a few SENTRI interview slots open in late JULY…but those will be long gone by the time yours or any SENTRI application is approved by the CBP.

Sorry for the above.  It’s complicated, we know.

It’s why I was quite excited to hear about Singapore and the U.S. CBP coming to an agreement for Global Entry and why you might be interested in it.

We have not submitted your application for SENTRI or Global Entry yet, so there is time to decide what’s best for you.  No worries.

Looks like you can have your interview in Singapore on Wednesdays:)  See below excerpt taken from article.

Let us know.  Thanks for your patience!

“successful applicants will need to go for an in-person interview at the US embassy in Singapore.

These interviews will be scheduled every Wednesday, according to Commissioner of the US Customs and Border Protection R. Gil Kerlikowske.

We will enroll people on Wednesdays but if we find we have more people than that to accommodate, we will increase the number of days but we can also fly out teams of our people to go to some of the larger companies, and larger organisations, and do special enrollments for them, because we want to make this as convenient for the citizens of Singapore as possible,” he said.””
